At Plow Surf Co, we're committed to making a positive impact on our community and the environment. That's why we're thrilled to partner with the Phoenix Community Project's School Leavers Employment Supports program to fulfil our online and wholesale orders.
Our connection with Phoenix Community Project began when my Mum used to teach some of the SLES team members and would take them to work experience and work placement while they were in high school. It feels more personal because we're able to keep in touch with students that she taught in previous years and see them continue to grow through the SLES program.
The SLES program at Phoenix Community Project provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to learn and develop new skills of identifying an online order, packaging it, labelling it and taking it to the post office to get delivered to straight to you. This process helps improve their independence, and gain employment experience. Through our partnership, we're able to support the program and provide meaningful work for the team members.
Bayley, the team leader at Phoenix Community Project, has been instrumental in our partnership. He ensures that our orders are fulfilled to our standards and that the team members are learning and growing through the process.
We are committed to using sustainable materials in our products and packaging. Our orders are not only hats made from post-consumer recycled nylon, but they are also packaged in sustainable biodegradable packaging. From our own branded bags to the Hero Packaging compostable mailers, we ensure that our packaging is environmentally-friendly.
At Plow Surf Co, we're grateful for the opportunity to partner with Phoenix Community Project and support their SLES program. It's been a rewarding experience for us to see the team members grow and develop new skills, while also contributing to our business. And, of course, we're thrilled to share this with you!
We have made a cute little video to introduce you to some of the team and give you a better idea of who the Phoenix SLES team are.
